Hotwire - save on hotels!

Hotwire is a travel website that offers airline tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars, and vacation packages. It operates by selling off unsold travel inventory at discounted prices.

While you can use it for all of these things our family mostly uses it for hotels. We have found some of our best deals on here and one time saved about 70% off the regular hotel price. Why do they give these deals? They partner up with these different hotels and you don't know what hotel you are getting (we have a couple tricks to narrow this down however) Here are all our tips on this awesome site! Once you click on the area you are searching in be sure and look at two things- look at the star rating of the hotel and most importantly how many reviews were left. There's two ways to narrow down which hotel you are staying in:

Look up on trip advisor hotels in the same area you are looking at in Hotwire. Then look at stars and how many reviews they have. If it matches up you hit gold! Sometimes this does work another way to narrow it down is look at the 'hotels it may be' spot and then google the hotels in that same area. A lot of times there is only one of the 'hotels it may be' area on hotwire... Make sure and check your bed type at check out. Let's just say things can get cozy with one bed and four people :)

Another good thing to know is sometimes their 'cancellation protection' is worth it. They are NOT flexible at all with cancelling, even having a baby! So just be sure and know you want to pay for it or pay the bit extra to cover your back!
