The JR Ranger Program is something newer to our family that we think you will love! Although it is new to us, it was started in 1930 by Park Naturalist Charles A. Harwell (for more history behind it check this out).
Stop in the visitor center and ask ar anger about the program. They will share with you the personalized handbook for that park and give you the 'how tos' of that park. Having something your kids can do to keep them learning and busy while visiting the National Parks is a treasure in itself! There are different levels for different kids that are at the parks. We like o try and help our girls do more than expected because they are going to be rangers of course! On top of this fun, the kids will receive a badge at the end that is personally branded wood. A few of the visitor centers will have stands with extra goodies to purchase for the Jr. Ranger program. We noticed Bryce Canyon Visitor center had the best goodies so far. We personally got a corkboard off of amazon here and have them displayed in the girl's room as it is one of their biggest past and ongoing accomplishments!
