Michigan's hikes are mostly easy to moderate but you will find some beautiful locations! SouthWest Michigan Trails:
Riley Trails - Holland, MI
Fun hike for all skill levels, especially families! Beautiful lake and 'magical trees." This is a one of a kinda area right in the middle of town.
Rosy Mounds Natural Area - Grand Haven, MI
2.2 Moderate to easy trail in and out trail. When you get to the end you'll find different areas to take a dip in lake Michigan, or enjoys it's views! There is also an area on the trail we like to call the "Magical forest" The trees are so majestic that it does really seem magical! Perfect hike if you have the kids along!
Hemlock Crossing Trails - West Olive, MI There are many different easy hikes you can take around this area. A great area to really enjoy nature.
Saugutuck Dunes Park - Saugatuck, MI There are many different trails here but they are all easy to moderate. Parking can be a bit confusing, but if you park near the Felt Mansion, it's free and the trails from here are just gorgeous!
Outdoor Discovery Center - Holland, MI - more than just trails! A great time for the whole fam :)
Upper Michigan:
Imperial Bluff Trail - Empire, MI This is a family hike that is our second favorite Michigan hike! So much beauty to be found.
Tahquamenon Falls (try & say that 10x fast :) ) There are two short hikes in both fall areas where you can walk around. Both trails are easy and beautiful!
Chapel Loop Trail - Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
10.1 Miles Moderate to Easy. This one is in the upper peninsula of Michigan & is a MUST DO. It is one of our favorite hikes of all time! The best part is between 4-6 where you will be walking along the pictured rocks area! The only way to see this area is by boat or this hike! So cool. We will let the pictures tell the rest...
