Holland, MI - there's no place like home! Holland, MI is been our families home town... I could probably drive around with a blindfold at this point :) But that doesn't mean that it's rated the 2nd best vacation town in Michigan (Mackinac Island being 1st). BEST PLACES TO STAY BEST RESTAURANTS, COFFEE SHOPS & BREWERIES HERE BEST HIKING TRAILS Lets dig right in! Holland, MI is known for the Tulip Time festivities & Beaches... There are many side 'privet' beaches you can find but the two main beaches are: Holland State Park: This park has camping options close to the beach (not right on the beach). The beach is very clean but very busy. There is a beautiful red lighthouse that is very famous for pictures. See the history on this "Big Red Lighthouse" Here. There is a place with restrooms, shelter and best ever Ice cream! Ottawa Beach General Store - If you go up the street a bit you'll find this cutest little Ice cream shop! Dune Dogz Treats - this is a few more steps up and you'll find some delicious american food options and Ice cream! Fun atmosphere too:) Tunnel Park: This beach is beautiful. Very high water right now so the beach is more crowded than normal. There is a nice parking places that cost $. or for a short walk you can park outside the park for free. Bathrooms when you walk up and sometimes there is an ice cream truck :). There is a beautiful big park area for the kids and a huge dune to climb if you are feeling sassy! Such a beautiful view from the top. Tulip Time: This is one of the main reasons people pick Holland, MI to visit. We are representing the Holland that is in the Netherlands. Check out the website with all your Tulip Time Info you could need! Don't worry - even if it's not Tulip Time you can still get all the dutch vibes you want: Windmill Island - quaint little area where you can get all the dutch you need! Windmill, Fudge, Wooden Shoes and more! Dutch Village - This is a kids favorite thing! They have all the Fudge, Wooden Shoes and candle making you could want! Then make your way inside and there is so much for the kids to do (Farris Wheel, Carresol, Farm, Kids activities and more! Biking: We suggest getting the app "Ride Spot" and signing up. Has all info on bike path info. There are many biking trails but our favorite would be beach to beach. Follow along the trail from Tunnel Park State Park Beach. The bike trail continues all the way up to Grand Haven Beach if you'd prefer! Holland, MI Biking Trails Renting bikes: Beach Side Bike Rentals West Michigan Bike Cross Country Cycle SUP, Boating, Kayak: There are a few places to get out in the water in Holland. One location is near Holland State Park and it has a two hour limit. There are a few other random places near this area that you can park and try and get in the water as well.. but sometimes they are busy. Another place is Unity Bridge to get on Lake Macatawa. You can float out towards the windmill on Windmill Island or down Lake Michigan. Paw Paw Park has a fun, short river to take. Boat Rental:1 Adventure Company - Boat Rental Kayak Rentals:Water Trail Kayak Rental Random Fun Things: Into art? We have some fun walls in Holland! Check out one with Tulips and the Windmill on 16th Street by walgreens. One is at (pictured) Engedi Church. The black flower wall is at 205 Coffee Shop! Kollen Park - This is a beautiful park right on the water. The board walk is along Lake Mackinaw. Their is a boat dock near by so fun to watch as well as a place that you'll find concerts from time to time! Holland Community Aquatic Center - Such a fun place to swim with slides and everything for your kids to swim!
