Starved Rock in IL is one of those secret gems of the midwest that you are just going to love! Between its caves, waterfalls and stunning hikes, you'll find something everyone loves here! Here is our info on Starved Rock & below find all our tips of different places to stay:
Camping:
Starved Rock State Park - You'll find these sites to be very woodsy! It's very beautiful, but plan on in the summer lots of bug spray! Some sites are very rustic with just a fire pit where some have electricity and some with both water hookups and electricity. There are shower houses with questionable water pressure :) It's nice how close you are to all of the hikes and adventures and well prices place to stay. The staff was very friendly! Lodging:
Grand Bear Resort - This place is so fun to stay. It's as close as the campsites are to Starved Rock State Park and you have fun things to do in between hiking!
Hotels:
We used our hotwire info one night to get a place to stay that was $60 bucks, clean, and a bed with air. We were desperate one night in 110-degree weather. It's great to know that there is a town about 20 min away with lots of food options and air-conditioned rooms if you need it. HAPPY TRAVELS!
