Hiking is all beautiful, amazing, meditading & down right life changing experience until... that nasty blister appears! Until your feet start sweating from no air flow. Until you feel are aching with no support. Untill... ok you get it. It's so incredibly important to have the right hiking shoes! Here's our tips:
*First learn about your feet. Need more ventilation. Need more ventilation? Have flat feet? Need more support?
Mens & Womens:
Josh is 6'0. He has wider feet and feet that get uncomfortably warm. His hiking shoe needs to be sturdy to hold his weight (it's all muscles babe, don't worry ;-)) He has hiked in Merrell mostly and uses tennis shoes for the more 'walk in the park' type trails. This is a sign that he needs to find something lighter and more ventilation in a hiking boot- will keep you updated!
For me, Care, I am 5'6 and 130 lbs. I have very flat feet and smaller than most at my height. I learned this from some running shoes back in the day (they would create horrible massive blisters) I don't need much arch support. The day I found my Teva it changed my life! They have all sorts of options to make my small, flat footed self in foot Heaven! All things about my Teva HERE & Here is why it works for my style.
We have been using Reima shoes for all their hikes the last few years and the girls LOVE their boots! See HERE for more info on Reima. & HERE are our favorite hiking boots for the girls! Get 20% off by using code: CAREXREIMA20
When Remy was younger she used Teva and loved the style & comfort. We are in the works for using their sandals for some upcoming hiking adventures - will keep you updated!
