01
Fostering a Positive Learning Environment
Create a dedicated and comfortable learning space free from distractions. Encourage open communication, listen to your child's feedback, and be flexible in adapting your approach based on their needs. A positive and supportive environment is crucial for successful homeschooling.
02
Set
Realistic Goals
Define achievable learning objectives for each day or week. Setting realistic goals helps prevent overwhelm and allows students to make steady progress. Celebrate achievements, both big and small, to motivate continued effort
03
Utilize Diverse Learning Resources
Explore a variety of learning materials, including textbooks, online resources, educational apps, and hands-on activities. Tailor the curriculum to your child's learning style and interests, making the learning experience more enjoyable and effective
04
Real-World Experiences
Connect lessons to real-life situations to make learning more meaningful. Field trips, experiments, and practical applications of knowledge can enhance understanding and foster a love for learning. Engage in discussions about how subjects relate to the world beyond the textbooks.
WHAT WE USE:
We aren't stuck on any one curriculum, but these are what we have used and like so far!
Math
Horizon
So far, we have used Horizon because we like the 'basics' or 'applied' math. We love how clear Horizon is and how it has a lot of repetition.
DIFFERENCE OF APPLIED AND PURE MATHEMATICS.

History
A Variety of resourses
We use a variety of books for history. The stages our girls are at, mostly stories and real-life history stories, work best. We even love to visit places that make past stories come to life.
*The basic book we use is this.
*Our favorite other resources here.
Reading
A Variety of resourses
Our favorite first book is "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons." Along with this, we find books at the child's reading level that they are interested in. We also use a book linked to Horizons spelling - and grammar books above.
Spelling - Gramer
Horizon
We have genuinely enjoyed the layout of Horizons spelling and grammar books. They also connect to a reading book, putting all the words together each week!

A Variety of resourses
We so far have used mostly real-life experience with Science. We love the kits you can get, such as THIS. We also love reading different books and researching how things work, like "Human Body" and making fun projects like things from "Stay Curious."
extra resources:
We have found that uniquely personalized things can help the girls learn so much better! A puzzle with their name on it? You bet! A book that is custom to everything they love and personalized to inspire them to keep going - just incredible! We highly suggest using these resources while learning!

We love this becuase the kids can follow along while being read a story. It helps them learn new 'larger' words then they would be able to read... but still help them enjoy the story.

Why we
Travel school
Being homeschooled growing up, both Josh and I found many benefits to it. We decided early on to travel school so the kids would be able to learn in our unquie travel lifestyle.
Travel schooling offers a unique opportunity for parents to tailor their child's education to suit their individual needs, interests, and learning styles. In a homeschool environment, the curriculum can be customized to accommodate a child's strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to progress at their own pace. Whether a child excels in mathematics but struggles with reading, or vice versa, homeschooling provides the flexibility to devote more time and resources to areas where additional support is needed, fostering a deeper understanding and mastery of subjects.
Beyond academic customization, travel schooling also nurtures a close-knit family dynamic and fosters strong relationships between parents and children. With the flexibility of scheduling, families can spend more quality time together, engaging in meaningful conversations, pursuing shared interests, and embarking on educational outings.
Moreover, homeschooling offers a safe and supportive learning environment free from many of the distractions and pressures present in traditional school settings. Children can learn in a comfortable space where they feel secure to express themselves, ask questions, and explore their passions without fear of judgment or comparison. We believe this nurturing atmosphere fosters a love for learning and encourages children to take ownership of their education, empowering them to become self-motivated, lifelong learners who are well-equipped to face the challenges of tomorrow.
We know travel (home) schooling isn't for everyone, but if you are looking into it and have any questions - please reach out!
